Microchanneling

Reclaim a younger appearance and healthier skin with microchanneling at our Jacksonville facial spa.

Why do we Microchannel?

Microchanneling is done when we want to look younger, have healthier skin, fill in lines and wrinkles, have our makeup apply and lay better on our face, and tighten loose skin around the face, neck, and other areas that need a little help.

What is Microchanneling?

This minimally invasive treatment facilitates younger, tighter, and healthier looking skin with minimal downtime. By opening up microchannels into the skin and applying specific serums, this treatment stimulates your body’s natural ability to generate collagen, elastin, and other building blocks of healthy skin. Most sessions are around 30 minutes.

Microchanneling vs. Microneedling

While microchanneling and microneedling both use tiny needles to penetrate the outer layer of the skin, the type of delivery device and the delivery technique differ and offer different levels of needling.

The microchanneling device employed by the experts at Body Soul Spa uses a stamping action to create clear, consistent microchannels. It reduces tissue damage compared to microneedling, which in turn results in reduced inflammation and, therefore, less downtime. Microneedling can require days of downtime. With microchanneling, your skin needs 60-90 minutes of rest following your treatment.

How does Microchanneling work?

Microchanneling stimulates a healing response in your skin. A single pass of the microchanneling device over your face will create hundreds of thousands of uniform microchannels. In response to each micro-injury, your body will begin an inflammatory healing process which initiates the formation of new collagen.

Introducing specially formulated collagen-boosting serums into the microchannels multiples this healing effect, creating healthier skin with a smoother texture. At Body Soul Spa we offer PDO AfterGlo™.

Who can benefit from Microchanneling?

Properly conducted microchanneling treatments are safe for all skin types. They will not result in hyperpigmentation, keloid scars, or other lasting negative effects. So, if you have fair skin or dark skin you will benefit from microchanneling. For best results, we recommend a series. However, you will see a difference even with just one session.

With just one session, microchanneling can improve the appearance of:

  • Acne scarring
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Hyperpigmentation (sunspots)
  • Rosacea
  • Stretch marks

Does Microchanneling hurt?

Microchanneling is a minimally invasive procedure that stimulates only the outer layer of your skin. While it is not painless, I would not say it is painful. You may experience some physical discomfort during your treatment. We have a numbing cream available to minimize your discomfort, although most clients choose to receive the treatment without it. Post-treatment you may experience a “tight” feeling in your skin. Your skin may be more sensitive than normal for several days after your treatment.
